WEEK 3

Mike : poster

NICOLE + STEPH
TALKING WITH THE TUTOR :

-Accessibility
-Interactivity
-Sustainable - biodegradable
-Personalise it yourself but dont pay the cost

TRELISE COPPER - status , popular, sophiscated - 'the look'

Desirability  (status)
what gives the bag status

Maybe tradeaid - research branding

Marketing / Production   - is exploiting slaves and people
-eye opener
-experience
-clothing
-personal reality
-stop producing   ---- climate change

Wardrobe Experience :

clothing - confined spaces the experience of the clothes and the physical textures
As you walk through the closet you feel the clothes and then come to the end where there is the harsh reality of rabbits and animals in cages with red lights on them.

It could be taxadermy that has been bedazzled like the New Zealand artist . It shows the reality of how clothes are made and under what circumstance.

Cassandra Simith

Her work almost glorifies the death of these animals . I could imagine in our experience creating almost a sensory deprovation style with tactle encounters. However before the end they experience the overwhelming death and false glorification of these aniamls and how they make what you are wearing on you back

Concept for Project

CONCEPT / IDEA  FOR WEDNESDAY CRITIQUE

Nicole + Mike + Steph

Concept : Using the laser cutter to create quick , mass production of products that can be accessible to all.

 PATENT OF A DESIGN FILE

Creating a product through a service using 4 Alternative ways of Making

(1) Create a design on an illustrator file  (on a laser cutter template) with all outline specifically colour on a USB with a separate file for instructions.

Red = Normal line
Black = Raster area
Blue = Cuts straight through

(2)  Similar to (1) however as we are marketing to students it could be more effective to have pre cut pieces in a boxes creating interactivity between buyer and final product . The buyer would then have to stitch it together

(3) Personalize it using custom fabrics the buyer has sources to great a unique new experience.
 Our group has discussed used also sourcing recycled fabrics or off cuts and print making new innovative patterns that are sustainable yet affordable.

(4) At the Market Palace we want to be able to show our audience what is possible through laser cutting , so we would have an example of the item.

PROS
